Handel’s Messiah at Coventry Cathedral

Handel: Messiah was a major cathedral performance conceived and produced by Knight Classical in 2022, presented at Coventry Cathedral and conducted by the late John Nelson, a management client of the company.

From concept to delivery

In close collaboration with Maestro Nelson, Knight Classical led all aspects of artistic production, from the initial conception of the project to the engagement of orchestra and soloists, relationships with record label and streaming partner, and the delivery of the live performance.

Broadcast and recorded legacy

From the outset, the project was designed to exist simultaneously as a live event, broadcast experience, and recorded release, ensuring lasting cultural and artistic value beyond the performance itself. The recording was released by Warner Classics/Erato, and the performance was live streamed on medici.tv.

Visual identity

In addition to performance delivery, we developed the project’s integrated visual identity, overseeing printed materials and visual presentation to ensure coherence.

Patronage partnership

The project was realised with the support of a dedicated foundation patron, with which our team worked in close collaboration at every stage of the project’s development and delivery.
