Istanbul International Orchestras Series
Curated international orchestral series at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall
The Istanbul International Orchestras Series was conceived and curated by Knight Classical as the first international orchestral series of its kind at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall, developed in close collaboration with the venue’s Artistic Director, Cem Mansur. The series stood as a focused platform for presenting major international orchestras and chamber projects within the city’s broader cultural landscape.
Knight Classical led artistic curation, programming, and production – touring a range of leading orchestras to the venue alongside recital and chamber music performances. The series contributed to the concert hall’s international profile and to Istanbul’s rich cultural life through sustained, high-level programming presented within a coherent curatorial framework.
Although partially disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the following ensembles were engaged to appear in the first season of the series: Academy of Ancient Music, Bamberger Symphoniker, Basque National Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Musiciens du Louvre, O/Modernt, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, The Tallis Scholars, and Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn.
